The author is a senior advocate practing law in the Supreme court and Patna Highcourt. He is also a political human-rights activist . During last twenty eight years he focused his activities on issues of criminalization of the politics , landlessness and homelessness of large deprived masses in Bihar. He successfully argued fodderscame PIL before Patna High court. Challenging presence of mafia’s in ruling political parties he successfully highlighted this issue in several PILs which the Highcourt and the Supreme court entertained earnestly and very seriously. To illustrate a few of those , the PILs relating to bar on imprisoned history sheeters to contest election ( vide Election commission India vs Jan chowkidar & others,upheld by the supreme court ) ; Ineligibility of a convict legislature to contest election ( Basant k. Choudhary vs Union of India decided by the supreme court ) ; direction issued by the Patna High court to the speaker of Loksabha to prevent members of parliament who were facing warrant of arrest orders from attending house sessions without obtaining bail first , are notable illustration of his activism.. He took up the issue of inhuman conditions prevailing in police custody ,a serious hazard that accused persons face before and the Patna High court vide Basant k. Choudhary vs State of Bihar intervened in right earnest to order complete overhaul of the conditions prevailing in police stations. There is unending list political and social activitism and public interest litigations demonstrating author’s serious concern for homeless , landless , rot in school and university education , growing communalism , plunder of public exchequer by the ruling class .
