Dr. Amaresh Jha

As a television journalist, Dr. Amaresh Jha has experienced the significance of strategic use of media in agenda-setting. This experience gave the author a vision of understanding the advocacy for ensuring the appropriate outreach of public policies. While pursuing doctoral research the author worked intensively on capacity building perspective of media advocacy and published research papers with journals of national and international repute. His work on ‘media advocacy’ has highly been appreciated. Currently, the author is a Project Director for IMPRESS (Impactful Policy Research in Social Sciences) of the Indian Council of Social Sciences Research. The author has taught in several academic institutions of India. The author is a fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society of Great Britain and Ireland and is a member of International Sociological Association, Madrid.
