Moon-young Kim is posted at KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) headquarters in Seoul, Republic of Korea (RoK). Previously, Mr. Kim was Managing Director of KOTRA, South Asia Regional Headquarters in New Delhi (2019-2021).

Mr. Kim studied at Seoul National University, Law College, and later moved to Brandeis University, Boston, USA to pursue MA (Economics) in International Economics and Development.

In 1998, he moved to India at KOTRA New Delhi office till 2002 for four years. His total stay in India was for eight years in various capacities.

In 2018 again, he returned to India, this time in Ahmedabad (Gujarat) where he served for one year before moving to New Delhi. In Ahmedabad, he closely interacted with Gujarati Baniyas, the world’s third-largest merchant community. He learned deeply about the 3000 years of Baniya DNA and Karma legacy that put India in the world’s top economies.

Mr. Kim is currently working on his doctoral thesis titled ‘Comparative Analysis of Indian FDI in the context of China, South Korea and Thailand’ at Jamia Millia Islamia University in India.

Mr. Kim was also posted at KOTRA New York Office 2006-2010, Bangkok Office 2013-2016, and Economic Strategy, Big Data Dept. 2016-2018.
