Nurul Islam Laskar was born in Shillong (India) on June 18, 1950. He worked as the Chief Manager, Public Relations & CSB, at State Bank of India, North Eastern Circle, Guwahati; Director (Corporate Communication), ERDF Guwahati; Consulting Editor, The Sentinel (English Daily); and Executive Editor, Eastern Chronicle (English Daily). He set up the first PR Agency of North East India, Cabsford. Laskar is a visiting faculty to many institutions where he conducts sessions on communication, personality development, and public relations. He is the founder Chairperson of the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI), Guwahati Chapter. Laskar visited the USA in 1976 as a member of the Rotary International Group Study Exchange Team. While serving in SBI, he helped SBI bag the ‘Mother Teresa Award,’ for outstanding community service, given by Loyola College of Business Administration (LIBA), Chennai. In 2020, Laskar was given the ‘Biju Phukan Award’ by ‘The Royal Affair’, Guwahati for his lifetime contribution to the field of public relations.
