PV Rajgopal belongs to the 1965 batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from the Madhya
Pradesh (MP) cadre. He served in several important assignments in MP and in the Government
of India. He served as head of the National Police Academy (NPA) at Hyderabad for three years
till his retirement in May 2001. His association with KF Rustamji developed while serving in the
NPA. He obtained Rustamji’s permission to write his biography. This book is the first part of the
illustrious and eventful life of an Indian police icon.
