Prof. Shameem Shariff, MD, PhD (Pathology) Prof. Shameem Shariff, MD, PhD, is a senior consultant surgical pathologist and cytopathologist, with a passion for teaching which has motivated her to write several books widely read for residents and surgical pathologists. She recently retired as Head of the Department of Pathology at MVJ Medical College & Research Hospital, Bangalore and prior to this was heading the Department of Pathology and Cytology at the St John’s Medical College, Bangalore. She has traveled extensively throughout India giving talks and guest lectures at various medical colleges and Institutions. Her travels include presentations abroad and training at the prestigious Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, and the Memorial Medical Center, Long Beach, California, USA. She has several awards to her credit – the Khanolkar Award; the Excellence in Teaching Award, and the Ernest Fernandez Award . She has been an undergraduate and post graduate examiner to several universities
in India as well as a PhD guide in Pathology at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore.
