Simran Randhawa, is the daughter of Major SJS Randhawa, Kirti Chakra (posthumously); and Lt Col RJ Randhawa, the First WarWidow to join Indian Army. Like a true Fauji kid, she picked up a new hobby in every place she lived. From classical training in singing, and roller skating in Gujarat, to ice skating in Ladakh. She still
horse rides, a passion she developed in army riding school Bathinda. She runs marathons, including the “World’s Highest Altitude Marathon” in Ladakh. An artist at heart, words aren’t her only muse. She’s an accomplished painter and speaks as vibrantly with brushes as with a pen. Her final years of schooling were form Sherwood College, Nainital where she excelled in swimming. She competed in Skiing Nationals in Gulmarg, India. Simran studied from Simon Fraser University Canada and received numerous accolades for her work with victims of violence.
She received Woman of the Year Award, 2019.
