Vanessa Ohri is an author, poet, and theatre personality. She began her creative journey as a copywriter with Ogilvy, Kolkata, then went on to freelance as a creative consultant, also teaching Advertising at NIFT, Delhi. Her first book, ‘Play it Right’ containing stage-ready plays and poems for dramatization, was published by Scholastic in 2015. She is also the author of ‘The Deluge’, a short story that was part of the anthology, ‘Escape Velocity, published by Write; Beyond in 2018. Her poem on Inclusion, ‘I Am Special’, written for the NGO Trinayani, has been translated into Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, and Braille, and has featured as part of the CBSE syllabus in an earlier edition of the main course English textbook for class 10. Vanessa is also a co-founder of the Gurgaon-based theatre company, Urban Suburban Productions, where she has conceptualized, scripted, directed, and acted in a host of highly successful theatrical productions.

She describes herself as a compulsive thinker and an eternal optimist. Penning her thoughts in words and pictures is something she loves doing daily.
