The book, Reader’s Pleasure, Spirituality, Motivation and Divinity (Vol. 1) Revolutionary ideas in the age of technology, is a compilation of some of the most popular articles on practical spirituality, divinity and motivation that have been very well received by the readers in the online mode on the blogsite www.societyandyou.co (SAY). These articles represent unadulterated, structured thoughts and musings of a powerful thinker bolstered by an elevated degree of observation about how people behave and conduct their activities as part and parcel of the society they live in. These articles also bring to the fore the feelings, sensibilities of the common people, what motivates them, what disturbs them, what they wish the society to be, etc. It is hoped that the ideas contained in this book would find enough resonance with the thoughts of the readers and at the same time provide much needed food for thought to satiate one’s hunger for knowledge.

This book is a tribute to mostly unsung heroines of our lives; our mothers. The book is a precious and playful banter between a 70-year-old traditional Punjabi mother and her 45-year-old part-Punjabi, part-cosmopolitan, part-traditional, part-rebel daughter, trying to get along with each other while sliding down the chute of daily life.
Based in a Punjabi household, the book has a universal appeal as the author has translated every Punjabi dialogue or expression written in ‘Gurmukhi’ script, into English. The book has a very large-hearted witty approach to life’s molehills and mountains alike.

Almost entirely in the world it is narrated that happiness stays within, made up of joy, love and acceptance we share with this world, but we barely greet the fact that unless we share this with ourselves on a deeper level, we will never be able to share it with this world. This book acknowledges the fact of sharing a loving relationship with yourself, with self-love, and healing. It is written in a way that helps you to heal your inner child and walk back to your little inner past self and tell him/her that’s its okay, its okay with whatever has happened to you, as we all are victims of victim and a part of this circle. But in order to break it, you need to heal yourself without apologising for whatever happened and respect, accept and cherish all the decisions that you make in order to reach your higher-self, without filling the void outside from the world and walk to your purpose well.

News today is sensational, fast and often fake — attributes Suresh has been taught and trained to avoid. But there is a fourth attribute to news that journalists don’t wear on their sleeves. It defies all stereotypical notions associated with the profession. Emotion, it is. Newsmen are reckoned to be detached and untouched. Almost Zen-like. They are the ones who can cover a gruesome tragedy and then head straight out to have a hearty meal. On many levels, the intrepid journalist is not much different from a beat cop: Both encounter the worst of mankind. Both are exposed to the scum of the world. Both put on a brave face, admirably reticent to tragedies and comedies. But beneath the façade, there is a beating heart — one that pines for that little girl who was raped and murdered; one that sobs for that beautiful woman whose husband was murdered by her own father; and one that prays for the safety of those twelve hapless boys trapped in a flooded cave in Thailand. Write Feelings is all about this. It brings out the emotion that Suresh had bottled up during four decades of his journalistic existence. These are words that the heart refuses to say out loud but gush out in the comfort of solitude. A cathartic release.

This book of Therapeutical Concepts in Yoga deals with Yogic Therapy, the principles on which they are based, and the scientific background of the same. The therapy can have real practical value, provided its principles are not mixed up with those of some other therapy. Even in some of the modern schools of Yoga, one finds a strong tendency and temptation to mix these up, either perhaps with an innocent view to obtain sanction or to add ‘elegance’ to demonstrations. Medical men, on the other hand, are prone to look upon the system as some form of special ‘exercises’ therapy. The Yogic therapeutical procedures do contain some exercises, but it is to be noted that the physiology of ordinary dynamic and violent exercises cannot be applied to them. Yogic therapy, however, does not consist of mere exercise; it is a composite treatment procedure which pays attention to all aspects of human personality. We, in our Health Centres, attempt to hit at a fair combination of both, and have found that such a procedure expedites results. Patanjali Yoga demands more or less an individual approach. With Hatha Yoga exercises, once the tensions are broken, it is easy to bring out the deep-seated repressions of patients and deal with them appropriately.

This book gives almost a detailed description about my childhood life in Sri Lanka and the rest of the life in India later. The sufferings I had encountered in Sri Lanka and in India have been highlighted in this book. My struggle to study in childhood as described in the book in detail will draw the attention of the readers. It also speaks about the relationships in my family and also with my friends in Sri Lanka and in India. I indulged in lot of fun especially during childhood which also have been incorporated in this book. As I was born to a most economically backward family, I did not get the education in right time. Even then how I surpassed these hurdles have been mentioned here. My elder brother played the prime mover role to put me in regular school belatedly. I got admission in class 1 when my age was 10. If my brother would not have convinced my father, my education would have been doomed. I tried my level best to explain my naughty and funny activities, while residing in Sri Lanka. Once we had to face a man-made food crisis in Sri Lanka in 70’s. How we suffered and came out of it has been described elaborately. In which spirit we celebrated the festivals in Lanka has been briefed to the taste of the readers. The final journey of us from Lanka to India has been illustrated in this book. While landing in India how we felt about the Mother Land and how we lead the life in the new habitat is described. Unfortunately, I lost my mother, just after six months of our migration to India. My education, employment career and unrest in family life have been described fully.
