The evening began with kin and kith sharing pleasantries with each other over drinks. They were then welcomed by the host under the blessings of the revered Guruji. This was then followed by the introduction of the author, Mr. Parth Kakkar. The audience was made aware of a secret offer to receive his book free of cost through solving a riddle, which they would receive randomly. This was followed by the main event – the book release – under the blessings of an elder from the Kakkar family, joined by the author’s parents, Mr. Jagjeet Arora and Mrs. Babita Arora, brother Kanishk Kakkar, sister-in-law Rebla Kakkar, niece Kaniraa Kakkar, and extended family.
The event proceeded with the reading of excerpts from the book, The Illusion Called Democracy, after which Mrs. Kakkar recited a self-composed poem. There was a break for 20 minutes, during which the author met with the audience members for drinks and appetizers. The event resumed, and the crowd was addressed by the author’s former teacher, Mrs. D. Singh, who shared her perspectives on Parth’s novel, and extended her blessings and warm regards. This was followed by an interview with the author, where he fielded questions about his novel and the idea behind its conception. Then, there was a celebratory cake-cutting, after which the people proceeded with buying signed copies of the book and clicking pictures with the author.
The attendees gave their regards to the author and his family, and started filtering out, bringing the event to a close.
