First Encounter with You

This book is a work of fiction. The names, places, characters, and incidents are the imaginations of the author. This book aims to encourage the individual to understand the value of World Heritage Site, the holy Mt. Kangchenjonga. Every year, the Lepchas from around the world offer prayers to this mountain as “Kongchen Chu Rumfaat” and believe it to be their guardian deity. The Lepchas are the indigenous people of Nye Mayellyang, Sikkim, India, who live peacefully and happily on the lap of Kongchen Chu, and are also called the Rumkup-Rongkup, which means the beloved children of God. Lepchas are nature worshipers and have their own unique language, culture, and traditional customs. They are divided into many clans “Putsho.” Each clan holds its own sacred mountain peak and lake. We must safeguard our holy mountains like Mt. Kongchen Chu and Mt. Kailash as they stand as the guardian deities of the nation.
