Altaf Hussain Haji, ISS, hails from Bandipora Jammu and Kashmir India, M.Sc ( Statistics) and B.Ed from University of Kashmir Srinagar and PGDCA from CMC New Delhi, an officer of Indian Statistical Service(ISS) batch 2001, presently working as Deputy Director-General, National Statistical office (NSO), Field Operation Divisions. MOSPI, Government of India at Shimla Himachal Pradesh, India and has many publications of papers, presentations of different seminars, conferences and articles in newspapers. He has more than twenty years’ service of experience of administration, management of surveys, etc. Visited officially to the Netherlands of knowing the Statistical System of the Netherlands. He has attending a lot of official statistics courses of IMF, UNSIAP, UNSD, etc. during his statistical career at national and international level. He has attended the training courses at IIT NEW Delhi. IIM Lucknow, IIM Calculate, Delhi School of Economics, Madras School of Economics ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Kanpur, IIPS Mumbai, IISS Mumbai, etc. He has been associated at different times with several statistical projects of the government of India and other state governments projects in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir last two decades It is to mention here that the author has worked very hard to qualify the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) examination, 2000, one of the very difficult Civil Services competitive examination conduct by UPSC. He has recorded deep apperception to become the first ISS officer from the Kashmir region of Jammu and Kashmir, India. He has also published one book recently “ The Jammu and Kashmir on account of Statistics.
