News Warriors Collective is a group of media professionals, who worked in different capacities in various media units of the Federal Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, like All India Radio, Doordarshan, Press Information Bureau, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity, and Directorate of Field Publicity (now merged together and named Bureau of Outreach & Communication). Those who worked in the All India Radio and Doordarshan were among the first to get news as it developed or breaking news as it came to be known later. They had also been deployed at conflict zones like Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Kashmir besides accompanying heads of nation or heads of government to various countries. Their counterparts in Press Information Bureau, attached to various federal ministries were privy to the nuts and bolts of decision-making in those ministries and many times trusted for their professional acumen by ministers. The book is a collection of anecdotes by those media professionals, which otherwise are unknown to the public.
