The writer Amar Jeet Singh, in his book titled ‘Solace In Serenity’ has dealt with the human life from infancy to old age. He talks of the passage of time and its effects on a person in different periods of life. He describes, the atmosphere on the International Border, at the Retreat Ceremony at Wagha Punjab, in his poem Sensibility at the Border. He expreses his love for his city Jammu called’ The City of Temples’. There is mention of a mother’s grief for her seriously ill infant. Natural phenomena like the Sun, wind and rain and their effect on human beings, finds expression in his poetry. Likes and dislikes of a person are mentioned by him further. The poem ‘Light and Images’ talks about the activities performed with zest and zeal by the people during a sunlit day. His poem ‘The Nocturnal Sin’ shows how some married women for greed of easy money, stoop low and become adulteresses. In the poem ‘Independence’ he has talked about the liberty and dignity of an individual. He expresses the volatile nature of human mind that keeps changing quickly and easily from one mood or interest to another. The poet gives importance to education and virtues and grace and not just to beauty. Treachery of an unfaithful wife has been explained in his poem ‘Fixation with Easy Money’. He condemns disloyalty of a wife in the poem ‘Black Art’. Whereas, the concept ‘A Hideous Face’ deals with the world of vampires.
