Leeny Elango hails from a small town, Chengannur situated in Kerala. But most of her young age was spent in the Middle East and in the capital city of Kerala. Chennai became her home when she joined Madras Christian College for her undergraduate. Literature makes a person political and also makes personal politics. That’s how it became her subject of interest. She pens poems dives into translations and also does occasional subtitling for short films and documentaries.

Leeny Elango is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Stella Maris College.
