Ram Prasad Kar is a young poet from Salipur, Cuttack, Odisha. After reading the poem “The Solitary Reaper” by William Wordsworth he fell in love with poetry and started reading old poets like William Wordsworth, Robert Frost, Lord Byron. He says, the seed of the love for English Language was planted in his heart by his teacher Prof. Ashis Kumar Baral. When he saw that for today’s world the rhyming form of poetry has become a thing of past, he wanted to write poems and show that this writing style still will be appreciated by today’s readers. But at a point in
time when doubts started to rise, his teacher’s words came to his rescue “If you lose a man will lose
and if you succeed an art will be revived”.
