The present human race is living in the era of a networked society where media is playing a pivotal role in shaping and modifying society. After 1991, India opened its doors to foreign companies for them to operate their businesses in India. Under the ownership of foreign companies, multiple media platforms started, especially in the domain of television, which transformed not only the Indian television industry, but also impacted Indian culture.
An ardent researcher who obtained a UGC scholarship in the area of Television & Culture, the author is engaged in research and teaching since the last nine years. She has been abroad for research experiences and paper presentations and has more than a dozen research papers to her credit.
