Invisible Cage is a novella about a suppressed girl named Huda who has always dreamt of being loved and adored by her father. She wants to touch the heights in her life, but is unable to do anything because of male dominance and gender stereotypes. She tries hard to achieve her goals, but encounters a lot of obstacles and barriers throughout the journey. Her voice and her desire are strangled due to some insensate acts.
Bisma Altaf is a young and enthusiastic writer born in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir in 1993.The author has recently completed her post-graduation in English Literature from the University of Kashmir and is presently a civil service aspirant. The author is much attached to Feminism because she has encountered many cases of domestic violence in her life. Writing has been an inseparable part of her life and has given her energy to work on behalf of the suppressed ones. From a very early age, the author indulged in writing in order to express her concern on many obscene things around .The author strongly condemns the atrocities committed on women folk, especially in Kashmir, and thinks that they too have the right to live their life happily. She strongly believes that one should not attempt to strangle the voices of women; one should prefer freedom over oppression. She desires to end male dominance through her writing. The author also believes that through writing we can express our ills and pains, and the happiness and sorrows of others.
