PEDAGOGY OF PHYSICAL SCIENCE

Science is a process of inquiry that describes the natural events with evidence through observation. Physical Science belongs to the field of Science which deals with non-living materials and basic elements of nature in the earth. Especially physics constitutes the concrete nature of the substances and chemistry analyses its compositional nature. To observe and understand the nature of science, a particular subject is required for the learners to learn and the teachers to teach. With the help of the specific lens, the learners and teachers of science will have a broad outlook regarding the concepts of science. Specifically, this book is formulated for pre-service teachers to teach scientific concepts and promote scientific temper among students. Further, the book is designed based on the latest syllabus of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University (2016-17). The book focuses on the aims and objectives of teaching physical science, planning for instruction, practicing the teaching skills in physical science, several methods of teaching physical science and resources for teaching physical science. It is also helpful for the first year pre-service teachers who are studying physical science as a pedagogic subject in B.Ed colleges.
