Prabhash Kumar Basu, PK to his friends and colleagues, is one of the pioneer Indian Tea Planter in the erstwhile purely British set up in post independent India. He had a meteoric rise to join the Board of Directors of this Tea Company, he joined in 1955, within a span of 25 years. Post retirement his Advisory services were acclaimed by the Industry in Assam, Cachar and the Dooars and finally took him to South African Mugwa Tea Estate, also on Advisory visit on the shores of Indian Ocean. Finally, in collaboration with his son, purchased a closed Tea Estate in the Dooars, India and revived it. He was centenary Chairman, Dooars Branch Indian Tea Association, and also Chairman, Area Scientific Committee of Tea Research Association, India.
