Savita Sahni has been an alumna of Kirorimal College, Delhi University, having done her M A ( English ) and BA (Hons-in-English) from there. She has worked as a lecturer in English In Janki Devi Maha Vidyalaya, Delhi University, Laxmi Bai College, Delhi University, HMV Jalandhar and DAV College for Women, Amritsar. She trained as an NCC Officer from NCC College for Women, Gwalior to become 2nd Lt. a Gazzeted Officer while being a lecturer in HMV, Jalandhar. She received a certificate and Diploma in Serbo-Croatian from Delhi University. She also has B.Ed. degree from Annamalai University. From Oct. 1976 to March 2008 she worked as Lecturer ,Vice-Principal and Principal in Navyug School , New Delhi. She retired as Principal from Lodhi Road branch of Navyug School. ‘Destination Wedding’ is her latest book. She lives in Gurugram( NCR)with her family.
“Vadh” is story of a fall of a family, spread across three generations that explores various aspects of society and human relationship such as superstitions, love, hate , friendship, loyalty and revenge.
There is no narrator in the Password novel. It is a journey from outside to inside and from inside to outside She is with him in this journey. But in being with you, a big world opens up. The landscape of a larger society stands out. This is a love story. But the characters of love are located in two different corners. There is no ideological emotional equilibrium in them. But even then there is love in which there is no expectation.
This novel has been written in an email and message. This is a different experiment. At the level of language, thought, sentiment and creation, the writer has introduced post-modern literature. Therefore, this novel is unique.
After floating in the Dead Sea, the six friends came out and started walking on the shore towards salt formations at a distance. Amyra and two girls were leading. Aghast they stopped abruptly, to see a thickset man holding a girl in bikinis and pushing her towards a fold in the piled up salt formations. It infuriated Capt Shaurya Vardhan who saw the man with an arm-hold around girl’s neck, flaunting a knife blade in his other hand. The girl was struggling and whimpering to let her go. The man was heard saying, ‘Co-operate with me and I won’t hurt you. Shaurya warned the goon in his deep voice, ‘stop there you rascal.’ Surprised, the man whirled around to face the challenger with a speed of a cobra stepped over. He shoved the girl behind him and came at the Captain, raising the knife aiming at his chest.
The novel is based on a curse story; a curse has been chasing a family generation after generation due to a crime committed by a powerful person due to ego clash with another powerful person. The protagonist was also on the firing line of the curse. However, he was saved from the curse by the blessings of his mother and mother goddess. The basic theme of the book is ‘blessings are more powerful than the curses.’ The book contains some unbelievable stories how the protagonist had been saved from almost sure death by a supernatural power. Throughout his life, the protagonist was in search of an answer why he was saved by the Almighty when he was about to die. Finally he got the answer when he was unconscious due to a murderous attack by a spurned lover by pumping three bullets in his chest. He survived the attack to become an enlighten person who finally has decided to denounce the world forever to devote his life for the mankind and for preservation of the environment.
