Madan Lall Manchanda as a senior Journalist has been writing for several decades. Reality Delights is a collection of short stories portraying incidents of real life. The characters are indeed compelling and invariably include commoners as well as those who have outshone in such fields as sports, literature, social luminaries and nation builders. The stories are both entertaining and thought provoking and are aimed to inculcate values and better society. It was released by former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

During his long career as a free lance Journalist, he has somehow been able to retain his passion and love for Urdu Literature.

A collection of his Urdu short stories titled ‘Chiragh-e-Arzoo’ (Burning lamp of our desires) was published in financial collaboration with Urdu Academy, Delhi Administration. The task of rendering these stories in Hindi is in hand and expected to be completed and printed in the near future.

His book ‘Glimpses of Modern Urdu Literature’ was released by His Excellency, the Vice President of India Janab Mohd Hamid Ansari. The Foreword was penned by Dr. Karan Singh, noted philosopher and litterateur (Former Maharaja of Jammu and Kashmir)

‘Karvan-e-Urdu, a collection of his literary and social articles was released on Aug 4, 2010. The preface penned by Janab salman Khurshid, Hon’ble Minister for Minority Community and Corporate Affairs. It was selected as one of the Prize Winning Books by Urdu Akademy , Delhi Administration.

Madan lall Manchanda had also a stint and long one for that in the Armed Forces as a Civilian Officer. Although even those eventful years too, he wielded an effective pen. Yet it is only after relinquishing that job that he has been constantly writing and earned the place that he occupies to-day.
