Born in the city of Golaghata, Assam on 20th August 1974 in a simple-minded family with high values. Most of the childhood and adolescent years saw through many cities as father was a serving officer in the Navy. He graduated with a degree in Maths Honours from Ramjas College; Delhi University. Consequently, ‘passion’ took over ‘logic’ as he found his interest in scriptwriting & filmmaking. As fate would have it, he stumbled upon a production house in Delhi where he assisted and trained for seven years. The seven-year itch brought him to the city of dreams, Mumbai in 2005. The inevitable struggle finally broke the ice with Eros International with a 3 film deal as a writer. Once started there was no stopping as the prolific writer in him evolved through each draft that led to the making of 5 films. Out of which, critically acclaimed and also recognised at the box office, Table No. 21 is something that still reverberates in peoples’ minds. Having directed two films he has many cards up his sleeve as he has also worked on Ads & Corporate films, documentaries, animation series and web shows.
