Birds Like Us is the maiden collection of poems composed by Deepak K Choudhary (Darshak). The collection comprises 90 poems penned at different points of time and on an array of subjects straddling across various contextual terrains of human existence. The poems have been composed employing diverse forms of poetic expression, styles and techniques. While some of the pieces may read almost like Browningian anterior monologues marked by a reflective tone and multiple layers of inwardness, some others may strike you with their conversational and occasionally balladic approach and palpable earthiness of treatment. A few others seem to be rooted in memories and reminiscences floating in the ‘pasts’ defying the deterministic mechanism of ‘calendar-clock precision’. At times, the readers may also notice the presence of some elements and features of metaphysical, existential, surreal and symbolic poetry in practice. Satire rooted in the zeitgeist is a striking aspect in case of some other poems with political undertones. The poet has not divided the collection into segments as he believes that any such attempt will obstruct the process of reading without preconceived notions and presuppositions.

“Tum Ajnabi Hi Rahti” is a beautiful journey of Love. The journey is without any destination. In fact, love is a perfect journey in itself—it does not have any purpose. The real love teaches us that living together or separating should never have a sense of hatred or infidelity for each other. There should be a feeling of love and respect for each other in the mind, always.

All the poems in this book are based on different aspects of love between an innocent and holy soul. Since the advent of the first meeting to the splitting of hope, the fear of disappointment will be overcome. I felt all this while living in love and dropped it all as a poem on paper. Hopefully, readers will love this book and will feel connected to my poems. I am eagerly waiting for your response.

It is a remarkable book of metres and verses containing the motto of life. We can do nothing in life without concentration. If we believe in the Lord, we can unite with true goal. We should have belief in God and never be down-hearted. Life is nothing unless we get the true way of life. We realize our pain, but forget the pain of the world. We must realize how the other people live. We shouldn’t make false commendation. We do the wrong works to gain advantage but we don’t ponder over the upcoming problems. Many stories have been composed about love, but nobody knows the true definition of the love. We should learn civility.

Everything I Never Said is a compilation of poetry that attempts to dig deeper into the reader’s life; exploring various emotions and phases we all experience at least once in our lives. It reveals how in the end, after all that we go through, what stays is who we really are. Devangi Godara likes to believe that she has been a writer for as long as she has known how to hold a pen. She uses all the skills she has acquired over the years, to portray the victory of optimism through dark poetry and prose. Being an introvert, she uses literature as a medium to express her emotions and connect to her readers, aiding them in not only knowing her, but themselves.

This book is simply a package of 30 months of life musings, countless conversations and exchange of life experiences. It’s not to give you continuous motivation. It’s not to keep you happy every time. It’s not to make your life perfect. It’s not to solve your life problems. This is an effort to make you realize that life is not perfect. To tell you to accept your life as it is, with problems. To make you understand that happiness and sadness are two faces of a same coin, and you only understand the value of one, when you are in the other state. To make you realize that in this journey, you are not alone; we all are on the same boat.

Man can be seen winning little against the predicament the destiny produces and coming home for good empty handed against the flow of this hard tide. Despair, as an inevitable emotion, sets the man as man when it is seen eye in eye. Happiness operates through the upper layers of one’s being while the sorrow the deeper and finer, and with this view, SHAV-YATRA, DAAH AVSHESH, UDHAN, PUSHP VYATHA, TATVMASI SHVETKETU are some of the poems of this collection worth looking into…
