The book in hand presents an account of geographical features of Bihar under three broad segments: Geophysical, Economic and Socio-cultural. Each segment consists of varied topics accommodating ample and possible updated subject matters in each chapter. The book includes sixteen chapters, each with the specific geographical arena, that fulfil the academic needs of university-level academia in particular and intelligentsia in general. Since maps are the expression of surface features and their positions, and tables are the expression of a set of facts or figures systemically, they provide instant information to the readers. As the maps and tables are better tools to explain the geographical features, they have been used extensively in the book. The text in the book is thereby supplemented with thirty-five maps and sixty-six tables to bolster the literature.

“Gor-Boli is language spoken by almost 12 crore people in India. It is a language as ancient as other Indian languages. Though Gor-Boli has no written script, it has survived through the speakers of Banjaras of the country. Banjaras of different parts of India have their regional language influence on their language and tradition. Therefore some Banjaras who are living in Hindi language folds are detached from Gor-Boli. They have incorporated Hindi culture and Hindi language. As Gor-Boli belongs to the Indo-Aryan language family, it was influenced by Indian languages like Hindi, Kadiboli, Marathi, Konkani, Apabrhamsh and other similar languages. We find only British scholars who have tried to study the outer sphere of Gor-Boli. There are several reasons for that; we had no scholars who could study our language then.
Thus, Prof. Dinesh Sewa Rathod has tried to formulate a research on Gor-Boli and came out with a book on Banjara language. He thinks this book will attract the attention of Banjara scholars and intellectuals.

‘Rooster Coops’ is an inspirational concept in Aravind Adiga’s ‘blazingly savage and brilliant…’ novel, The White Tiger. The concept is based on the enslavement of the ‘Indians of Darkness.’ In the very words of Aravind Adiga, ‘the greatest thing to come out of this country in the ten thousand years of history is the Rooster Coop.’
Dr. Amal. C. Dev has developed this concept vividly incorporating in it various elements of social, political, economic, cultural, religious as well as psychological nature that had been and have been contributing their mite towards the growth and development and progress of this enslavement in leaps and bounds. He has tried to clarify queries such as ‘Why are these human beings cooped like roosters?’, ‘How are they cooped?’, ‘Why are they not able to break these coops?’, ‘Why and How does Balram break it?’ etcetera. Just as Aravind Adiga, he too has, rather consciously, ignored the perennial ethical question: Does the end justify the means?
This concise book would be very handy for those involved in researches and projects on current Indo-English Literary Writings.
